Firelands Local School District will be holding a special meeting on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 7:00 pm at the board of education offices to review fiscal year-end needs.

New Scoreboards Needed at FHS
The Firelands Athletic Boosters are raising funds to purchase new scoreboards for the high school gym. The Boosters are seeking donations from individuals, groups, and businesses to help defray the cost ($13,700). The current scoreboards are over 25 years old and in need of replacement. Checks should be made out to Firelands Athletic Booster Club and need to say “scoreboard fund” on the memo line.
New Board Member Selected
At its special meeting on April 4, the Board appointed Ben Gibson as school board member, filling the seat vacated by the resignation of Courtney Ortner. Mr. Gibson’s term will expire Dec. 31, 2013. The board interviewed six people total and would like to thank all of those candidates for their interest. All of the candidates were outstanding.

Firelands Concert and Select Choir One Rating at OMEA State Level
The first time in over 30 years the Concert and Select Choir members received a Superior Rating at district in March. Then the choir traveled to Medina to compete in OMEA State in April and received a Superior Rating again!!! Not sure how long or if the Firelands Choral Department has ever received a Superior Rating the first year to state!

Meet in front of Boy’s locker room behind stadium.
COST: $20 per camper (*early registration mail by July 2) $25 day of camp.
