FES Principal's page

Welcome to a brand new school year at Firelands Elementary School.

I hope that you are looking forward to the school year as much as I am. For those of you who have previously attended FES, you will notice some changes this year. The biggest of those changes is the 5th grade has joined our school. Personally, I am very happy to see the 5th grade in an elementary setting instead of a junior high setting. This should bring many benefits for our students.

Fitting the 5th grade into the building caused the movement of many teachers to different classrooms. So, when you stop in to visit the school (any time after August 13), you will notice that many teachers are in different rooms than before. You will also notice some new names. We are welcoming five 5th grade teachers (Mrs. Beursken, Mrs. Lee, Mrs, Mick, Mrs. Viancourt, Mrs. Watson), intervention specialist (Miss Barr), a teacher aide (Mrs. Allomong), and two band instructors (Mr. Brawley, Mr. Brunger). Also, due to the 5th grade move, the district’s special education director and school psychologists offices have been moved to South Amherst Middle School.

Here are some upcoming dates to remember.
