Roy Gordon's SpedNet

Remote Desktop Web Services  - Access SpedNet from Internet Explorer 7 or higher. We are still testing this setup, please accept any certificates if it asks, and please do not bookmark the links beyond this page. When asked to login for the webpage, it will ask for it in domain\username style. For example: if your name is Jane Doe, you would type in firelands\jdoe for you username. It only works with Internet Explorer 7 or higher. It will not work from Firefox, Mac, or Linux clients.

SpedNet Launch Beta- I've rewritten the spednet launch file, it will allow you to check the printer selection, set the spednet login, a combined exit spednet and logout of remote desktop button, and tell it to send changes to the server. Download the zip file, and use the RDP file, or you can use the .MSI file to install a copy into the programs directory and onto the desktop if you have a Windows XP or higher machine.

SpedNet Connection file for Firelands. Please open this zip archive and copy the spednet.rdp file to your desktop. This will give an easy way to launch the spednet software.

Printing

In general, you want to stick with a printer that has "redirected" somewhere in the name when selecting a printer. If it has "redirected" in the name, it means that it has copied this printer from your computer's list of avilable printers. Also, please make sure and log out by click on the start button at the bottom left hand corner of the screen, then selecting log out (or use the button in the new script we are currently testing). If you use the "X" at the top of the screen, it closes the connection, but leaves you logged in, If you connect in from a different computer, we have heard of reports of printing difficulties until the user logged off, then back on again.

Logoff vs Close

When you are done, please log off. Click the start button, then choose log off. The new SpedNet launch file does have a one click log off button that will close the program down, and log off for you. Clicking the "X" at the top of the connection window only closes the window, the programs are still running.

Windows XP (older, SP2 or lower)
