Red Ribbon Week is part of a nation-wide effort to prevent
substance abuse by our children. It is a
week we set aside to educate students in a developmentally appropriate way
about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, teach refusal skills, and celebrate a
drug-free lifestyle. Healthy choices are
emphasized.
The theme of this year’s celebration is “Follow Your Dreams,
Live Drug-Free”. We want our children to
be determined and passionate about their dreams. In order to reach their goals, students need
to work hard and make wise choices along the path to their dreams, including
making healthy choices for their mind and body.
