Firelands nutrition staff is providing meals during the extended closure. For those that qualify for free or reduced meals, you can receive free meals during this closure. You must fill out the google survey so we can plan accordingly. You only need to fill out 1 survey per family which will allow you to receive free meals for the remainder of the closure.
School food service depends on meal reimbursements to stay solvent. The food service department is self-sustaining and does not use from the general fund. For each meal sold the food service department gets a federal reimbursement per meal sold, even during the closure. We encourage you to fill out the survey and take advantage of the meals offered. We are offering some frozen items as well that you can heat for your child/children.
Meals are being dispersed on Tuesdays from 11 am-1 pm and 5:30 pm-6:30 pm. Pick up is at Firelands Elementary School. Enter the drive by the main doors of Firelands High School and pull around to the bus garage, then to the Elementary School. Please stay in your vehicle and we will come to you. You must provide your child’s name to pick up the meals. We will provide 5 breakfast / 5 lunches and milk each Tuesday.
