Good afternoon, this is Mike Von Gunten, Superintendent at Firelands Local Schools. This post is directed to parents of students at our elementary school regarding an investigation that is currently underway. Today, we received information of a suspected “hit list” that we believe has been created by one or more of our students at the elementary school. Based on the investigation thus far, we have no reason to believe this is a credible threat; however, I wanted to inform you of the facts as we know them presently. In addition, we have notified the Lorain County Sherriff’s Department of this concern. Please be assured that the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Thank you.
