Kindergarten Enrollment begins on March 1st. Enrollment is available online or parents/guardians may attend either enrollment session listed below at the Firelands Board Office (112 North Lake Street, South Amherst).
- March 1 – 8:00 to 3:00 pm
- March 2 – 3:30 to 7:00 pm
Kindergarten Enrollment: Parents living in the Firelands school district with children who will be five years old by August 1, 2023 are eligible to register their child for 2023-2024 kindergarten starting on March 1, 2023. Online registration can even be completed on your phone, without downloading an app.
Open enrollment for parents living out of the district opens on February 1, 2023 for the 2023-24 school year. For new open enrollment applicants, registration is not permitted until your application has been accepted. (Please see the open enrollment section below.)
Kindergarten screening is a separate event that will take place on May 17, 2023, but your time slot must be set up during the registration process in March.
Documents required for registration include your child’s birth certificate, 2 proofs of residency, parent/guardian photo ID, shot records, and custody papers (if they apply). Residency documents must be recent and must show current address. Examples include: recent utility bill (gas, electric or water), lease, mortgage statement, recent pay stub, home or rental insurance statement. If you are living with a resident or renting within the Firelands Local School District, a residency affidavit must be completed as part of proving residency. That form is located here..
Kindergarten registration involves completing all of the online forms in the Final Forms portal and providing the listed documents below. The Final Forms link is here. (Open enrollment applications must be submitted and approved prior to registration.)
