INVITATION TO BID

Bids will be received by the Firelands Local School District, Office of the Treasurer located at 112 N. Lake St., South Amherst, Ohio 44001 until Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., when they will be opened and read in the Board of Education Office of the Treasurer at 112 N. Lake St., South Amherst, Ohio 44001 for the following Project:

in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications prepared by:

Any Proposed Equal for a Standard or question pertaining to the project shall be submitted to the Architect no later than noon, May 20, 2019.  If no Addendum is issued accepting the Proposed Equal, the Proposed Equal shall be considered rejected.  The Bid Date will not be extended.                    

A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting and site walk-through will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the following location:

Bidding documents may be obtained directly from ARC (eBlueprint), 3666 Carnegie Ave., Cleveland, OH 44115, 216-281-1234, www.e-arc.com, at the nonrefundable cost of printing and handling. 

DOMESTIC STEEL USE REQUIREMENTS AS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 153.011 OF THE REVISED CODE APPLIES TO THIS PROJECT.  COPIES OF SECTION 153.011 OF THE REVISED CODE CAN BE OBTAINED FROM ANY OF THE OFFICES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES.

This is not a prevailing wage project.        

Substantial Completion Date is August 10, 2019 for Restroom 1 & 2 and August 23, 2019 for Restrooms 3 & 4.

 

All bids must conform with the applicable statutory law (including but not limited to O.R.C. §9.312, O.R.C. Chapter 153, and O.R.C. §3313.46) and Board of Education policies along with these bidding requirements and the applicable specifications.

All bids must be completed in their entirety, either typewritten or handwritten in ink, and signed by the bidder.  No oral, telephonic, or telegraphic bids or bid modifications will be considered by the Board of Education.  All bids must be sealed when submitted.  In addition to the foregoing, an affidavit of non-delinquency of personal property taxes must be included with all bids. 

Any bid that is incomplete, conditional, obscure, contains additions not requested, or contains irregularities of any kind, or that does not conform with the applicable statutory law or Board of Education policies or with these general bidding requirements or the attached specifications, shall be grounds for rejection of such bid by the Board of Education. Additionally, the Board of Education expressly reserves the right to reject any and all bids and, if it desires, to subsequently re-bid the contract.  The Board of Education will accept the bid submitted by the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. 

Late bids will not be accepted and will be returned unopened.

The Board of Education must approve all contracts resulting from competitive bids prior to being awarded.
