7th and 8th Grade Spelling Bee
The 7th and 8th Grade Spelling Bee was held on February 10th at SAMS. Theses top four students will move on to the next round: 
8th Grade Scheduling
8th grade scheduling for high school will begin on February 22nd. Please see the following for additional information: 
Freshman Orientation
Current 8th grade students and parents are invited to the FHS Freshmen orientation on Thursday, February 25th, at 5:45 p.m. in the gym at SAMS. 
Safety & Security Update 2-16
In efforts to improve our safety and security procedures at FLSD, we are happy to announce the following:

Visitors will soon undergo new safety procedures.
District wide, a new check-in policy will be enacted for any visitor upon entering the buildings.
 
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on February 25th for all students (K-12).  Conferences at SAMS will be from 3:00 - 7:00 pm.  A meeting for all 8th grade parents regarding freshman scheduling will take place in the small gym at 5:45 pm. Please see the second page for additional information. 
No School
Students will not have school on:
February 15th - Presidents' Day or February 26th - Non-Instructional Day.
 
Spring Fling
The Spring Fling (previously know as the Winter Formal) will be held on April 16th for 7th and 8th grade students. We hope to see all of our students at this semi-formal dance! 
Report Cards
Report card will be sent home with all students on February 3rd. 
7th Grade PAC Champs!
Congratulations to our 7th grade boys basketball team - they are the PAC Champs! They defeated Oberlin to earn the title!

6th Grade Thanksgiving Service Project

New Student Breakfast
A breakfast was held for all new students on October 2, 2015 in the cafeteria at SAMS. This annual event was hosted by Counselors Novak and Sullivan. Principal Gomez, Food Service Director Baumann, and Public Relations Coordinator Butchko were all on hand to welcome the students.
