FMS ODA: After School Care

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We are excited to announce that we will again partner with Open Doors Academy (ODA) to enhance our after school program at Firelands Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year. ODA is a Cleveland-based non-profit organization with more than 30 years of experience operating out-of-school time programs.  

The middle school program is open to all students in grades 6-8, and it offers students opportunities for academic support as well as enrichment activities. It will operate five days a week, Monday-Friday, immediately after school until 5:15pm.

Registration will open on Thursday, August 18th. You will register through Open Doors Academy’s website: Click on “enroll” and create an account. Once you verify your email address, select “Firelands Middle School” from the drop-down menu and complete the application.

SUBJECT: ACE Ohio clarifications and Payment Options for Open Doors Academy at Firelands

We regret to inform you that ACE funding is no longer an option. If you were approved by ACE, our recommendation is that you use the money for something other than ODA since ACE will not reapprove ODA as a provider.
Therefore, all families need to pay for the program. The program cost and payment options are below.

Automatic, Monthly Payments through Open Doors Academy website. Payments are withdrawn each month on the date you set up your first payment, starting in October and ending in May for a total of 8 payments in the amount of $93.75 each.

Steps for setting up automatic monthly payments:
  1. Click this link ODA’s Online Payment Portal and subscribe to either Before School, After School or Both. 
  2. Complete the form with your contact information, child name(s) and payment method.
  3. Click subscribe when complete.
  4. Submit your first payment by October 1st

Once your first payment is set up and submitted, 7 additional payments will automatically be made, one each month, on the same date of your first payment.   (i.e.: if you make your first payment on Oct 1st, your next payments will be Nov 1st, Dec 1st, Jan 1st ...ending May 1st.)  You can change your payment subscription or method at any time.
