FMS ODA: After School Care

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We are excited to announce that we will again partner with Open Doors Academy (ODA) to enhance our after school program at Firelands Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year. ODA is a Cleveland-based non-profit organization with more than 30 years of experience operating out-of-school time programs.

Program Overview
The middle school program is open to all students in grades 6-8, and it offers students opportunities for academic support as well as enrichment activities.  Academic supports consist of homework help, tutoring, and test prep, as well as an individualized, digital curriculum called STRIDE Academy which focuses on literacy and math.  Enrichment activites include 3D printing, STEM Building, culinary arts, arts and crafts, sports and recreation, field trips, drama and improv, wood working, partnerships with Mad Factory, the Metroparks and more.

It will operate five days a week, Monday-Friday, immediately after school until 5:15pm.
