Most money freshmen get is from the college that they decide to go to. Some colleges automatically consider students for scholarships while others require additional forms to be filled out. Be sure to take all steps to be considered for these scholarships from each college you apply.
Check with your parent’s employer or groups they belong to. Many offer scholarships to children of employees/members.
Check with local community groups such as Kiwanis, Rotary, PTA and booster clubs.
Check with groups you are a member of such as Boy/Girl Scouts, FFA, athletics, music, special interest groups and volunteer groups.
Competitions scholarships are available in areas such as art, poetry, essays and music.
