Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We are excited to announce that we are partnering with Open Doors Academy (ODA) for our before and after school program at Firelands Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year. ODA is a Cleveland-based non-profit organization with more than 30 years of experience operating out-of-school time programs.
The program is open to all students in grades kindergarten through 5, and it offers students opportunities for academic support as well as enrichment activities. It will operate five days a week, Monday-Friday, before school and after school.
You will register through Open Doors Academy’s website:
www.opendoorsacademy.org. Click on “enroll” to create an account. Select “Firelands Elementary School” from the drop-down menu. You will have the option to register for the AM program, the PM program, or both the AM and PM program. If your student participated last year, you will need to update the parent profile to be registered for the 24-25 school year.
Program Hours
Mornings: 6:30 a.m. – 8:25 a.m.
Afternoons: 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
**Please note the closing time as the ODA’s procedure for child/ren not being picked up by 5:30 will be assessed an additional $15 charge per child, per 10-minute interval and may also result in loss of privilege to attend the after-school program.

Costs
The elementary program has a set cost for full-time and part-time participation. Automatic payments are set up online through our secure payment portal and are made monthly, or you can choose to pay in full ahead of time. Full-time participation is attending 9-10 sessions a week between both programs (AM & PM). The full-time costs is $1000 for the full school year and includes the costs of all daily snacks, field trips and all programming. Part-time participation is attending 8 sessions or less each week. The part-time costs is $750 for the full school year and also includes everything the program offers.
Families who qualify for TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) will only be responsible to pay half of the part-time or full-time amount.
